Golf breaks at the coast

You may be used to spending your golfing breaks somewhere closer to home, after all, if you’ve only got a few days you don’t want to waste any time on lengthy travel. Skåne is the southern most province in Sweden and being less than an hour from Copenhagen airport, it’s the ideal destination for golf breaks abroad when time is limited. Hop on a plane and within just a few short hours you could be out on one of Skåne’s many beautiful and challenging golf courses.

South-west Skåne’s golf courses are the perfect place to start a golf weekend as they’re relatively close to Copenhagen airport. Founded in 1909, the Falsterbo Golf Club is a must see not only because its golfing history, but also because of its varied 18 hole course. Located on the stunning Öresund sound peninsula this course makes the most of its natural setting, mixing heathland and water hazards to great affect. Skanör- Falsterbo is located close to the course, enabling golfers to take their pick from five great hotels that cater for a wide range of budgets.

From the Öresund sound peninsula head further up the coast towards Malmö where you’ll find The PGA of Sweden National. This links course boasts good-sized greens and a whole host of bunkers. This course has a particularly memorable water hazard in the form of a stream that runs through seven holes. There’s also a new lakes course, which with its small greens and large lakes, is a challenge for any seasoned golfer.

Although they’re just one small sample of all the amazing golf courses Skåne has to offer, the courses located in the south-west of Skåne are ideal for short golf breaks. Their close proximity to Copenhagen airport and the stunning Skåne coast makes them perfect for sampling the best in Swedish golfing breaks.
