Skåne Sailing holidays along gorgeous coastlines

Sailing holidays along gorgeous coastlines

What better place for a sailing holiday than a picturesque Swedish province whose south, east and west borders are made up of stunning coastline? To top that, it’s also scattered with large lakes and rivers, making it a great place to sail all kinds of boats. Hoist your sails and get ready for a truly memorable Skåne sailing break.

Limhamn harbour overlooks the Öresund Bridge, so it’s an ideal first stop on your activity holiday if you’re flying into Copenhagen airport. In Limhamn, you can combine your passion for sailing with good old fashion fishing. Book a place on M/S Pelle and you can head out from the harbour on a short fishing trip, or charter the ship to enjoy a longer fishing excursion.

For a taste of historic Swedish sailing, book yourself a trip on the T/S Helene. Built in 1918, it’s one of the first sailing ships in Sweden to be listed by the Swedish Maritime Museum. Thanks to its huge great sails and historic look, a sail in Helene will make you feel like you’re on a swashbuckling adventure holiday. Berthed near the southern town of Ystad, you can easily combine a day or evening’s sail on T/S Helene with a stay in the picturesque town.

If you’re planning a sailing holiday in southwest Skåne, then Brantevik is a great place to base yourself. From here, you can sail to the island of Bornholm and then out into the Baltic Sea. Brantevik also offers another great opportunity for some historic sailing, with the restored Jakten Hoppet taking up to 17 passengers on day and weekend sailing trips.

The perfect way to finish your Skåne sailing break is with a trip to The Fishing and Maritime Museum in Råå. Here you’ll see model ships, marine paintings, figureheads and more. Plus, the large fishing port of Råå is well worth a visit too
