La Boheme, The Pauper Princess, MacBeth and Battleship Potemkin – all the big productions are here.
The funky thing about Malmö Operan is its own home-grown productions such as Dead Man Walking, Bananakontakt - an opera for children - and Filttofflan & Halmhatten, and although these productions are in Swedish, only real opera buffs know what the performers are singing about anyway.

The building that houses Malmö Operan is an art-deco masterpiece, built in 1944 and holds an audience of 1,500. There is a guided tour of the building, and for a small fee (coffee and biscuits included) you can find out how an opera house works.
Malmö Operan welcomes you to a broad spectrum of opera, musicals and ballet to experience its fantastic and spectacular musical theatre. Bravo.
