Getting away from it all takes on a new meaning in Swedish Lapland.
Arvidsjaur, which is where the wilderness activities on offer are based, is fabulously isolated, with the nearest town being an hour away.
The packages on offer include fishing, hunting, walking, dog sleighing and snowmobiling. Perhaps the best activity though is standing atop one of the many mountains and taking in the magnificence of this land of 4 000 lakes. You should also take the chance and get to know the Sámi, the people of this land. You can learn about their culture, share their traditions and enjoy their company.
Experienced guides run all activities. There is a variety of accommodation including a holiday village, hotels and youth hostels, as well as sleeping in tents with certain packages.
