Professional, cocky and sooo Stockholm. Heads of culture, media, politics and business rub shoulders (mostly) in this classic Swedish brasserie. Because Sturehof is the place to be seen. Served by professional staff with a twinkle in the eye, oysters, seafood and champagne do the rounds at lunchtime. A pinkish-red rillette with bacon on rye bread with cucumber and mayonnaise is nothing less than a Swedish folklore masterpiece. Classics? Famous charred sotare herring with dill butter and mashed potatoes; and the reliable beef brisket with horseradish cream. Pure. Simple. Elegant. And the wine list is so big it practically needs an index.
