5 - 7 December. Kick start Christmas in the most idyllic way possible by visiting the traditional Christmas market at Katrinetorp. It’s on the outskirts of Malmö but there are regular buses for those without a car. The market stands and food are excellent, and everything, including the clothing of the staff, is inspired by Christmas in the 19th Century. More info
Malmö’s Christmas market
12 December. The start of Malmö’s central Christmas market, open daily and stretching all the way from Stortorget to Triangeln. On Gustav Adolfs torg, the beating heart of the Malmö Christmas, you can visit Santa Claus, make your own decorations and much more. December
13 December. A good place to celebrate is Folkets Park, the lovely outdoor entertainment hub in Malmö. Not only are they hosting the annual crowning and concert of Malmö’s official Lucia (usually a young girl nominated by friends or family for her work with charity), they also have a whole day of Christmas festivities in the park, called Jul i Parken
Have fun at the Christmas flea market and enjoy many special Christmas activities for little ones, from 9am in the morning.
13 - 14 December. Christmas market in the courtyard of the medieval building St. Gertrud in central Malmö. A cozy, traditional market with high quality goods and a focus on Scandinavian design.

20 - 21 December. Good jul sustainable Christmas market at the picturesque Lilla Torg. Get your last minute presents at this market, which focuses on fair trade, sustainability and beautiful, locally produces goods.
