Visit the City Hall, where the Nobel Prize Banquet and festivities are held. The City Hall in Stockholm (Stadshuset ) casts an imposing shadow over Riddarfjärden, the body of water that flows past the Swedish Parliament, various ministries and government departments forming the administrative heart of Sweden. It is here that the local authority of Stockholm has its offices.
The building was completed in 1923 and is a mix of architectural styles. The 106 metre tall tower is topped by the resplendent, three golden crowns symbol of Sweden. It is worth visiting if only to see the view from here. Another very good reason to visit Stadshuset is the Blue Hall, where the Nobel Prize Banquet and festivities are held.Other highpoints of a visit include a guided tour of the various rooms; halls and salons of this magnificent building that actually looks more like a palace than a town hall.
