Vintage
All things vintage particularly rock in the Zinkensdamm area at Judit Second Hand, and Herr Judit (men’s version) and in the nearby area South of Folkungsgatan (SoFo), at Grandpa and Our Legacy, both men’s favourites. And Beyond Retro fans will find a rather large store just near Zinkensdamm metro station exit.
Mainstream funky
Find Swedish trend setting stores J. Lindeberg, Weekday and Monki all close to each other at Götgatsbacken. And for a quirky hat store, check out Hattbaren grundat 1917. Acne lover? Take a walk down to their mini boutique on Nytorgsgatan.
Mini mall
Pop into Bruno Götgatsbacken for Whyred and Filippa K shops. And the Aplace store is a favourite for fashion forward brands ranging from Ann-Sofie Back and Our Legacy to The Local Firm.
Independent
For small independent up-and-coming Swedish designers as well as more established names like Carin Wester and Diana Orving, shop at Tjallamalla. And rockabilly-deluxe can be found at Sivletto. Like quirky but practical household objects? Stop off at the 10 Swedish Designers (10-gruppen) iconic textile boutique.
You will not make it past 3 stores without a café being in between or even in the store in a lot of cases, so just give in. Södermalmers love their hangout time.
Coffee break? Check out Bruno Götgatsbacken for a fashionable coffee. Have traditional Swedish food in Kvarnen for lunch and consider hipster Urban Deli for a post shopping glass of wine and tapas.
When?
Stores usually open around 10.00 a.m. and close at 18.00 with later opening hours on Thursday and Friday. Larger stores open on Sunday. Check store websites.
