Fine dining in Stockholm

At the top of the scale Stockholm has a number of restaurants with a Michelin star, including the well-established F12 and Esperanto, where diners can enjoy modern fusion cuisine, and the chic Lux in the up and coming area of scenic Essinge Island.

Current Swedish gourmet king, Mathias Dahlgren, has recently been awarded two stars at his flagship restaurant of the same name at Stockholm’s Grand Hotel and its more informal sister, Matbaren, also at the Grand, has achieved its first.  Both serve inspiring and imaginative twists on classic Swedish cuisine and offer a true gastronomic experience. Also the intimate but sophisticated Frantzen-Lindeberg in Stockholm's Old Town recently received two Michelin stars.

The Gastronomic front

For a lot of people Swedish food means little more than IKEA meatballs and jars of pickled fish. However, the gastronomic front has changed and Swedish gastronomic art has won world recognition with its imaginative use of raw materials and innovative combinations.

Stockholm never sleeps

Very few cities offer nightlife on a par with Stockholm’s - a scene that really lives, seven nights a week, year in, year out. In this respect, Stockholm has very little competition from anywhere north of Paris and London.
