HSB Turning Torso
Standing 190 metres tall, twisting 90 degrees from top to bottom and consisting of nine box units of five floors each; linked by stairs and elevators, it would be difficult to miss the Turning Torso building if you are in Malmö. Turning Torso faces out over the Western Harbour area of the city, formerly an industrial area and now under renewal with accommodation, services, workplaces and educational facilitis either at planning stage or being built. It was built between 1999 and 2005 and from the top floors you get panoramic views of Malmö, Copenhagen and the Öresund Strait. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it is based on his sculpture of the same name. You can live, work, hold conferences and seminars here, or visit the new 3,000 m2 Turning Torso art gallery and restaurant.
