19 April 2011 - Stockholm-based restaurant Frantzén / Lindeberg was last night named ‘One to Watch’ by the prestigious ‘S. Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants List’. Since its launch just three years ago, Frantzén / Lindeberg has already earned two Michelin stars and this latest accolade tips the Swedish restaurant for even greater things.
Owners Björn Frantzén and Daniel Lindeberg take their inspiration from the unique and diverse range of raw ingredients available to them in their home country of Sweden. There is no traditional menu and instead they cook dishes inspired by the finest ingredients that they have come across that day, presenting them to diners as a beautifully crafted series of surprises.
The sourced ingredients are the result of intense daily discussions with local livestock farmers, growers, fishermen and wine makers. This means that, rather than being locked in to set menus, Frantzén / Lindeberg always has the freedom to use that day’s best possible produce. According to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants List, it is this ‘free-form menu’ and the often ‘intriguing’ ingredients that create ‘a truly magnificent dining experience’.
Organised by Restaurant magazine, the World’s 50 Best Restaurant List is judged on the opinions and experiences of over 800 international industry experts who form The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. These experts are each selected for their expert opinion on the international restaurant scene, whether they are food critics, chefs, restaurateurs or highly regarded gastronomes.
