There are many very good reasons to part with your money while in Stockholm. The city is known for its “cool factor” among lovers of Swedish design and music and is also an up and coming centre for fashion and trend setting. In the centre of the city look out for NK on Hamngatan, it was once a posh department store, but is now a franchise of 60 different stores offering a gamut of retail pleasures. You’ll find most of the designer clothes and accessories boutiques at Birger Jarlsgatan and Biblioteksgatan in the city centre and Södermalm.
Stockholm has made a name for itself in recent years as one of the world’s leading centres of design, fashion and music. So you should head for Stockholm’s shops – there 4,000 to choose from. Look out for traditional Swedish handicrafts, clothes and accessories, glass-ware (Orrefors and Kosta Boda) and designer jewellery (Efva Attling). Hamngatan in the city centre is a good place to start your shopping spree.
