The Kingdom of Crystal is an area of Småland famous for making crystal and glass. Encompassing 15 glassworks, all with their own styles and interpretation of crystal and glass, a visit here lets you see how the glassblowers gather the glowing melt from the furnaces and transform it into a myriad of beautiful shapes and forms. There are also many retail outlets in the region selling art glass and glassware at very competitive prices and factory seconds at bargain prices. The glassworks also put on concerts of chamber music, jazz, opera, brass bands and choral music in their exhibition halls and old smithies in the first week of August every year.
