This summer’s exhibition at Artipelag introduces the American artist William Wegman. He is perhaps best known for his photography of his dressed up Weimeran dogs, the dogs that have raised generations of American children through the children’s television show Sesame Street and which have reached cult status in Wegman’s own movies.

Sweden Rock Festival is an annual rock/metal festival held in Sweden since 6 June 1992. While having a clear rock/metal focus, the festival is noted for its diversity across these genres, having featured southern rock bands such as Molly Hatchet to death metal legends like Obituary.
A Taste of Stockholm is an early summer festival that each year attracts hundreds of thousands of people with a shared interest in food and drink. During the first week of June the downtown park Kungsträdgården, or ”King’s Garden”, is transformed into a party with culinary sensations and performances by many well known artists. Around 25 of Stockholm’s most exciting restaurants serve everything from the most traditional Swedish dishes to exotic creations from other parts of the world in the park during this too-short week.
Sweden has not taken part in any of the wars of the modern era, which may explain the Swedes’ somewhat guarded attitude towards celebrating a national day. They are proud of their country but don’t seem to feel any great need to show it. Previously, 6 June was not a public holiday, and for many people the only sign that this was a special occasion was the decoration of buses with Swedish flags.

VÄTTERNRUNDAN, 300 km long, is the largest recreational bicycle ride in the world. Open to everyone from 18 and up, it is a unique possibility to experience cycling on a grand scale. The main event is accompanied by the shorter alternatives Tjejvättern (100 km, women only) and Halvvättern (150 km).
