The White Guide is Sweden’s esteemed and trusted version of Guide Michelin that no self-respecting food loving Swede leaves home without. Malmö has two outstanding fine dining restaurants acknowledged by the White Guide as Masterclass.
Bloom in the Park is where to go for a gourmet challenge and where everything feels like an amuse bouche. Expect bull’s testicles, top quality pata negra, foie gras ice cream and wines that are served blind.
Bastard Mat & Vin
Bastard Mat & Vin is Malmö’s newest, sexiest, overnight success and offers nose-to-tail cooking. Menu highlights? Shredded pig’s trotters, duck thigh confit, top class charcuterie and rillettes. With its sleek zinc bar, flaming grills, open kitchen and modern European home cooking, Bastard is unpretentious, bold, and generous in every way.
Sture is where locals go for the luxe version of traditional Swedish classics such as Wallenbergare (veal burger in browned butter) and kåldolmar (stuffed cabbage rolls).
Many of the high-end restaurants actually close down on Sundays, and some for the summer (and for a period after Christmas) – so it is best check with individual websites and book ahead.
