Dated back to the 17th century, Bonnstan is one of the oldest remaining church towns in Swedish Lapland. Since distances between the farm and the church were enormous considering old days transportations the church towns was vital of the remote parts of the north. Soon the church towns became a corner stone in the making of many modern citys I Swedish Lapland. Today Bonnstan is a must for everyone visiting Skellefteå, especially if you’re here during midsummer’s eve or the last weekend in June - when the annual market attracts lots of people and old traditions are awaken.
