Kläppen Ski Resort in Dalarna

Kläppen Ski Resort in the Sälen Valley is a blast winter or summer. In wintertime it hosts Sweden’s best snow park and some of the best skiing in the Swedish mountains. When the snow and ice retreats, Kläppen transforms into a summer mountain paradise that you can discover on horseback, by foot or from a canoe. Kläppen Ski Resort has 15 lifts and 32 exciting runs that will appeal to skiers of all level of expertise. Where Klappen comes into its own though is activities for kids; “Trolles Ski Paradise” is an area with runs, lifts and activities exclusively for little ones, including skiing competitions, treasure hunts and fun and games with Trolle and Trolla. But the fun doesn’t stop at skiing at Kläppen, you can also enjoy dog-sledding tours, a snow scooter ‘safari’ and a hot tub in sub-zero temperatures.
You could holiday in Kläppen in summertime just for the fragrant fresh mountain air and scenery…or you could go canoeing, traverse the tree tops, go fishing, or hiking, play golf, or go horse riding. And much more.
Wildlife spotting with an experienced guide is a great way of discovering the flora and fauna of the area; you might even see elk and beaver. In the Västerdalälven (river) that runs through the region you can fish for salmon trout, char and rainbow trout and in faster running waters you can also catch salmon trout and grayling. Back on land you can discover the area by horse-back on day tours or stay overnight on summer farmstead tours.
Winter and summer, there is a wide choice of accommodation in self contained chalets, guesthouses and there’s even a camp site at Kläppen.
