Fishing in Bergslagen - Lake Vänern

Fishing in Bergslagen - Lake Vänern

Description of fishing/locations: With its giant forest and thousands of fishing waters, the province of Värmland in western Sweden really is a total fishing experience for sports fishermen and nature lovers. Expect undulating landscapes and rich flora and fauna where you can have your own fishing idyll.
Sweden’s mightiest river, the Klarälven, runs through the length of Värmland and at its northern and southern ends offers exciting fishing. Northern Klarälven’s mountainous terrain is famous for lake pike fishing and challenging grayling fishing. At the river’s southern end you’ll find the Forshagaforsen and its brilliant salmon and trout fishing. There are zones here for fly-fishing and spinning; wading and boat fishing. The central and western parts of the province offer deep lake fishing for pike and perch and some big fish have been caught here (+15 kg pike and 2 kg perch). The south east part of the province around Säffle is rich in pike-perch waters.

Värmland: the nature is wild and fabulous; the fishing outstanding and the local ‘Värmlänningar’ folk? Famous for their hospitality.

Accommodation: A big choice of accommodation, from luxury hotels, and country house stays and guesthouses, to fishing and wilderness camps, ecological fishing villages and hostels. Plus plenty of campsites.
