There is much of interest to see and do at the palace. In addition to the Royal Apartments there are three museums: the Treasury, that houses the regalia, the Tre Kronor Museum that portrays the medieval history of the palace and Gustav III's Museum of Antiquities. A visit to the Tre Kronor Museum will take you through a five metre thick section of wall, one of the best preserved remants of a building which was here in the 1200s. This museum is dedicated to the orginal palace which burned down in 1687. During regular opening hours several guided tours are available to visitors.
