Utö is an island in the outer part of the Stockholm archipelago and a 3-hour boat ride from Stockholm. The trip is wonderful at any time of year as you get to see many islands, inlets, islets and skerries on the way.
In summertime there are many places to take a dip to cool off such as Alö, where there is also a restaurant. Famous Swedes such as Anders Zorn the artist, and Greta Garbo have enjoyed themselves at Utö Värdshus and you should too because it’s a great place for a meal and night out. It also arranges half-day and whole day fishing trips, which is a great way of seeing this part of the archipelago when you are not trying to hook a fish.You can also hire a cycle and see the island, or see it from the sea by kayaking around it.
