Läckö slott
Present day, the castle offers much for the visitor with a treasury, exhibitions, concerts, opera, children’s’ activities and a beautiful garden. The castle front is mirrored on the still waters of Lake Vänern. Inside you can enjoy interiors that take you through the transformation of the building from bishop’s fort to baroque castle. An exhibition well worth seeing is “Food and Power” – from the maid's kitchen to the count's table. This exhibition shows how Sweden’s aristocrats, during the years when Sweden was a great power in Europe, outdid each other in the lavishness of the parties they put on. Läckö Castle is open between May and September each year.
