Discover Sweden
Let Discover Sweden at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis take you to Sweden this summer! This exhibit and its related programs present an up-close look at life in contemporary Sweden. Inspiring samples of today’s Swedish culture, design, food, city life, and nature are on exhibit and open for experiencing. Visit the exhibition in Minneapolis from June 3 to September 27, 2009.
Discover Sweden offers an especially rich armchair travel experience. The exhibit invites you to explore Sweden’s natural beauty, technical excellence, and cultural vitality. Besides a quick trip through Sweden’s rich history, the exhibit takes you from the north’s tundra through the vast central forests to the southern coastlines. Along the way, you experience the design, engineering, music, and traditions that have made the 9 million contemporary Swedes so visible on the world stage.
The exhibit has been on display in Washington DC at the House of Sweden but have now moved to Minneapolis to make sure that more people can enjoy and Discover Sweden.
Swedish design is famous around the world for marrying form and function in furniture, interior decoration, clothes and household objects.
