If Sweden is the home of eye-catching modern furniture then Småland is its heart. Visit the inspiring furniture exhibitions at Källemo or the Bruno Mathsson Centre, which is named after the legendary Swedish furniture designer and located in his hometown of Värnamo. Why not spend a night or two at the splendid Park Inn Hotel in Värnamo, famous for its fifties design and interior décor?

Jönköping is the largest inland city in the southern part of Sweden and a natural focal point. You reach the city by air either via Copenhagen or directly to Gothenburg or by ferry to Gothenburg, from where it takes 1.5 hours by car.

The province of Småland is also well known for its natural landscape - with its wild beauty, crystal clear water and stunning forest.  Famous outdoor activities are canoeing, trekking and cycling.

In summer, the Isaberg Recreation Area offers exciting safaris, while in winter you can enjoy the ski slopes. Younger visitors can meet up with Pippi Longstocking or Sitting Bull at the High Chaparral, Sweden’s own version of the American Wild West.

You can visit the Old Town of Eksjö – which won the European Nostra Award – or discover Visingsö, the legendary island in Lake Vättern.

Småland – wherever and whenever you choose to go – is designed for pleasure.
