The star of these attractions is the Liseberg amusement park, Northern Europe´s largest and most beautiful, with 35 rides and adventures to suit all tastes, ages and levels of courage – plus a multitude of other pleasures and attractions, enough for many days of fun and enjoyment. Most famous of the rides is the Balder rollercoaster, named the best wooden roller coaster in the world, and the spectacular and quite terrifying new ”Kanonen” (The Canon), sure to send the adrenalin rushing through the veins of all who dare ride it.
The Universeum science and technology museum in central Gothenburg is another attraction where families can explore the underwater worlds of the Baltic Sea and tropical oceans, experiment with robotics and satellite communication and watch bloodthirsty leeches go about their grim business...
The Slottskogen park, with its miniature zoo, and the adventure pools in Mölndal and Lerum are other popular venues for visiting families.
The TanumStrand Holiday Village, two hours north of Gothenburg, is one of Sweden´s most popular family-friendly coastal resorts.
