A Taste of West Sweden

”A Taste of West Sweden” is an ambitious and farsighted programme initiated in 2000 by the West Sweden Tourist Board, intended to stimulate genuine western Swedish food culture on many levels, and to make this culture more accessible to visitors.

The emphasis is on high quality, locally produced ingredients, traditional cooking techniques, friendly and knowledgeable service and respect for the environment. Today, some 29 restaurants around the Gothenburg area and along the west coast are certified and can proudly put the golden ”Västsvensk Mersmak” sign on their walls.
 
These restaurants are divided into three categories – coastal, farmland and forest. Look out for this sign if you like to savour some truly rich and original local flavours!
