"Culture, food, entertainment, shopping and a royal presence in the middle of the city, Yes, my Stockholm really has everything you could wish for in a European capital. We also have amazing water, which seems to be around every street corner and which makes Stockholm such a unique and beautiful city", says Annika Sorenstam, professional Golf player, Stockholm. |

Two of the main islands of Stockholm make up Northern Europe's largest and best preserved medieval city core, with a history dating back to the 13th century. The Old Town (Gamla Stan) is home to the imposing Royal Palace, several beautiful churches, narrow, picturesque streets and alleys, and an abundance of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.
Golf is enormously popular in Sweden. What else would you expect from the nation that brought you professional tour champions Jesper Parnevik and Annika Sorenstam? Swedish golf clubs are open to all and a number of pay-and-play courses have opened offering opportunities for new golfers to play. Season is normally seven months, May until November. The Stockholm region is home to about 50 golf clubs, many more than in most big cities.
In recent years, Stockholm has been widely publicized as one of the world's most contemporary urban scenes. Whether your passion is shopping, fashion, design, restaurants, art, music, nightlife or general big-city trends, Stockholm has more than enough to offer even the most discerning globetrotter.
