Kiruna Snow Festival
It's time again for the 23rd Kiruna Snow Festival, one of the mightiest snow events in Europe. The town of Kiruna invites you to a "world full of snow, ice and cold" with a "hot" daily program.

The main attraction during the festival will be the international Snow Sculpture Competition, held only a snowball's throw from the city center in the beautiful park, jarnvagsparken. This year, teams from Sweden, Switzerland, Czechia, Wales, Finland, Germany and USA will take on the challenge of creating a sculpture from a block of snow, 3x3x3 metres.
Kiruna hosts Sweden's only space station, Esrange, which specializes in the study of the Northern Lights. Space activities, including guided tours to Esrange, exhibitions, lectures, astronomic observations from the Bengt Hultqvist observatorium and more, will be held during the festival.
The opening ceremony will be held on January 23, followed by one week of activities.
