'Swedish sin breaking borders'
The Swedish Europride will have a uniquely Swedish theme: 'Swedish Sin Breaking Borders'. This theme plays on the international reputation (based on myth or reality?) of Swedes having a very relaxed attitude to sex and nudity, which has persisted ever since the 1960s. The theme of 'sin' will be used to draw attention to the fact that gay activities and life-styles that are regarded with 'pride' in Sweden are still considered to be 'sinful' in some parts of the world today. So the Europride 2008 theme will focus on the fascinating question of what Sweden can do, as a country, to make life easier for lesbians and gay men living less liberal countries throughout the world.
