They know that Villa Villekulla is a yellow house with a horse on the verandah and that Emil practically lives in a woodworking shed. Here at Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby, in the Swedish province of Småland, all of this becomes reality. This is where Astrid Lindgren grew up and where her stories live on.
Theatre at Astrid Lindgren's World
The performances continue all day, on stage and in improvisations all around the park. At Lilla Scenen (the Little Stage) just inside the park entrance, and at Stora Scenen (the Big Stage) in Wild Rose Valley, we perform specially written pieces with singing, music and dance.
Between performances you can meet the characters in their own home environments, where the fun continues. For instance if you venture into Wild Rose Valley you might be stopped by Tengil's soldiers at the gate. If you're lucky, Jonathan Lionheart will come and let you in - if not, you'll need the password. And when you visit Villa Villekulla don't be surprised if Kling and Klang racing past at full speed, trying to catch Pippi so she can be sent to an orphanage.

All this fun and excitement unfolds right around you, all day long. Everyone is welcome to join in. And what five, seven or seventy-seven-year-old for that matter would hesitate when Pippi, Karlsson or Emil asks to play.
