The people of Skåne are dedicated food lovers and this is evident wherever you go. Top restaurants are to be found not only in the cities but also in the countryside, as well as numerous farm shops, inns and the like.
Among the very best restaurants, 27 have created a network called ‘Culinary Skåne’. The idea is to promote the wide range of local specialities and delicacies through the innovative cooking of the region’s finest chefs. They make full use of local fresh produce – such as asparagus, new potatoes, apples, and delicacies from the forest and sea – to create dishes with greatly contrasting flavours (sweet/sour) and styles (rustic/elegant).
Restaurants in the network include ‘Gastro’ and ‘Sofiero Slottsrestaurang’ in Helsinborg, Mötesplats Österlen, the trendy ‘Atmosfär' in Malmö, the slow-food restaurant ‘Salt & Brygga’ and the eco-friendly restaurant ‘Ängavallen’, to name just a few.
Apart from exquisite food, many of the restaurants offer excellent accommodation, from small comfortable rooms to luxury suites.
