Culinary Journeys

Nettle soup, cloudberries, reindeer meat and schnapps.
Sweden has a fine culinary tradition. Swedish husmanskost, good old everyday food based on classic country cooking, has been influenced by foreign cuisine over the years, but it is still basically genuinely Swedish.

In the past decade, food has become more of an art form in Sweden. The Swedish Culinary Team has won great success in competitions all over the world. They won the Culinary Olympics two years in a row, thanks to their skill and innovative cooking.

The different regions of Sweden take the best of their special traditional dishes and transform them into true artworks for both your eyes and taste buds.

In Skåne, for example, you can try seven types of eel at the traditional eel fest accompanied by wormwood schnapps, or browse among the herrings of Skånska Sillacademien – the Skåne Herring Academy.

The varied landscape of West Sweden gives the region lots of specialities – fresh fish and seafood from the coastline, beef, dairy and poultry from the farmland areas and a lot more.

Treat yourself to a culinary journey to Sweden and your taste buds will be eternally grateful!
